I dont like being labelled into a category; i.e. “the skater”, “the prep”, “the korean boy wannabe”, “the hypebeast”, “the hipster”, etc.
Whenever a new trend hops on people jump on it as fast as they can and claim to originate it. There’s people who think because they go to a certain school their classified as a hipster (not implied to anyone). Hipster this, hipster that, “i wear a blazer and im a hipster”.
Trends are amazing. They allow people to express their ideas and thoughts to the world and if someone else diggs it, that great! The overuse of trends just get to me.
I’ve never liked labels or being classified into a group. If someone asks me to explain who I am, I am myself, not a hipster, not a person who buys into the hype, but just reciprocating what i like about society through different trends.
Too much of anything is bad and, I believe being versatile is the way out of this. you gotta moderate everything.
